Leadership Growth Happens One Conversation at a Time

One of the greatest privileges of my work is witnessing leaders discover strengths they didn’t know they already possessed.

Recently, I was honored to receive a thoughtful LinkedIn recommendation from Andres Gonzalez, Vice President, Community Engagement and Chief Diversity Officer at Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin, following our coaching work with the organization’s Business Resource Group (BRG) leaders.

His reflection reminded me of something I believe deeply: coaching is never just about improving performance. It’s about creating the conditions where people feel safe enough to think differently, challenge old assumptions, and step into their leadership with greater confidence.

As Andres shared:

That statement captures what meaningful coaching is designed to achieve.

When organizations invest in developing both individual leaders and leadership teams, they don’t simply strengthen skills—they strengthen relationships, trust, collaboration, and the culture that connects people to a shared purpose.

One of the aspects of his testimonial that resonated with me the most was his recognition that coaching extends beyond professional development. Leadership is never isolated from the person behind the title. When leaders gain clarity, confidence, and new perspectives, that growth naturally influences the teams they lead and the organizations they serve.
